Install
All our apps can be installed from the Mac App Store.Uninstall
You need to quit the app before uninstalling it, maybe force quit.
There are several ways to uninstall an app, but we recommend you to use one of the below options:
- The easiest is to open Launchpad, and then drag and drop the icon to the Trash, or press Alt and then click on the little X
- You can also open the applications folder in a Finder (use Go menu / Applications), and then delete or move the app to the Trash.
- If you can't find the app, you can secondary click on its Dock icon and click Options / Show in Finder. From Finder you can easily delete the app as any other file.
Reinstall
You can reinstall an app again from the App Store, Apple won’t charge you again. Every app you have once downloaded can be found in your Purchase History even if it is not available by an the App Store search.
Disk Diag
Our app is fully sandboxed and carefully reviewed by Apple, so we do not see why does any organisation mark it as malware / Possibly Unwanted Application.
We could find lot of discussion about the issue on various antivirus forums. This reply from an antivirus sw developer explains the basic problem: We are detecting the app as PUP/PUA because the app is marked as Deceptor and does not match with our Guidelines. Disk Diag is on the list of deceptors and probably will stay on it as our app meets some of their criteria (ie. our subscription model).
As a workaround you can add a file shield exclusion for Disk Diag app. In case if you have troubles with that, please contact your antivirus sw support.
If you can’t manage to solve the issue and our app becomes unusable for you, you need to contact Apple Support for a refund.

You can allow 'Full Disk Access' to Disk Diag, with the following steps:
- Open System Preferences / 'Security & Privacy'
- Locate 'Full Disk Access' section on the sidebar
- Click the padlock icon and enter your password
- Click the + icon and add Disk Diag to this list by selecting the app from the dialog that appears

Access is required to be able to remove files and folders you select for celaning.
Duplicate finder and malware scanner works for external and network drives.
The only way to recover data is to restore it from a backup. Deleting files with Disk Diag is the same as you’ve deleted them permanently from your system.
You may notice a difference in available space statistics between Finder and Disk Diag. Finder displays the available space on the disk without accounting for the local snapshots, because local snapshots will surrender their disk space if needed.
Due to Apple's sandboxing restrictions Disk Diag displays the available space with accounting for the local snapshots. This is the real free space you have without disturbing your local backups.

Mail+ for Gmail (EasyMail)
You need to update to the latest version (requires macOS 12 or later) and purchase "Plus Features" to use multiple accounts. Simply click the top right “profile icon” and then “Add an other account”. Multiple accounts can be used with multiple windows, the app does not provide an aggregated mailbox.

Please update to the latest version (requires macOS 12 or later), where we have tried to do our best to fix the issue. For older versions: the issue is caused by a system bug in MacOS. We hope Apple will fix it soon in an update of the OS. As a workaround you can enable Full Disk Access (we can assure you it will not be a security issue) by adding the app to the list under System Preferences / Security and Privacy / Privacy. (It would be enough to give access only to the Downloads folder under “Files and Folders”, but recently this is also not working properly).
Please update to the latest version (requires macOS 12 or later), where we have fixed the issue. You need to purchase "Plus Features" for printing. For older versions: due to technical reasons we could not implement printing.
Sorry for the issue, it is probably caused by temporary error on Google’s side. You can check the state of Gmail at Downdetector. Sometimes third party logins are not working. We hope Google will fix the problem soon, and you’ll be able to use the login in our app as well. Please check back in our app a bit later.
Our app is fully based on Safari, so it is equal to using gmail.com from your browser (end-to-end encrypted). The app is sandboxed and reviewed by Apple, so it is a closed environment. No information is logged or sent to anywhere else than gmail.com.
Recently you can’t change it, but it is on our todo list. It will show up in the next major update, but we can't promise you a certain time for that. Thanks for your patience!
You need to change your "Default email reader" option in Mail app (Apple's default email client) / Preferences / General
Unfortunately it appears Google has recently changed something that is causing this to happen on 10.11 and below. We have reported this issue to Gmail's development team and are waiting to hear back. Hope they will fix it soon.
The only workaround we can suggest recently is to use gmail.com from your browser or upgrade the OS to 10.12.
Our app is fully based on the browser version of gmail.com. Please check the issue in your browser, and if it happens there too, then contact Google Support.

MKPlayer
It is possible that you may have selected “Don’t allow” for local network access. Please check your settings at System Settings / Privacy and Security / Local Network to ensure access is enabled for our application.
You can add your own subtitle after you've opened a video by clicking File menu / Open Subtitle File. After that you need to select the subtitle under View menu / Subtitles. In case if you have trouble with a certain subtitle file, please contact us by clicking MKPlayer menu / Report Problem.
Your TV can only display subtitle tracks included in your video. Built in subtitles can be displayed by selecting them with your remote within the media player of your TV.
In case if you have added your own subtitle you need to merge it into the video to display it on your TV. You can easily do that with our free app called Subtitle+. Download Subtitle+ on the Mac App Store
We do have some known issues with different encoding subtitles (ie. Korean sri files). As a workaround please convert the subtitle with an Online Subtitle Tool for a solution.
After installing MKPlayer from the Mac App Store, you can simply enable the extension under Safari / Preferences / Extension.
Permissions will be granted for all webpages it is even highlighted that the extension will be able to access sensitive information. Due to technical limitations there were no better option we could choose and we can assure you that we only use our extesnion to parse online video URLs from websites, not your sensitie data. The extension is also reviewed by Apple so you can feel safe to use it.
If you'd want to read further explanation, you can check Apples documentation about Website Access permissions. As the extension is able to parse online video URLs from any website, we had to grant "Level = All" to our extension.
There were some minor changes under the hood in Play On TV, that might be causing issues for streaming to certain smart TVs.
We have added an option in version 1.2.12 under MKPlayer menu / Preferences / General called Legacy streaming mode. Please enable this option as a workaround.
In some cases as a general suggestion that you might also try is make sure your Mac and your TV are still on the same network. As a workaround you can turn off / unplug your TV and switch it back on, so it will be forced to reconnect.

In case if your video has multiple audio channels, you can select them under View menu / Audio Tracks.
Recently you can't display added subtitle files on your TV, but we'll add that feature to our next major update. Built in subtitles of a video files can be displayed by selecting them with your remote within the media player of your TV.
AirPlay can only work with video files that can be added to iTunes such as MP4, M4V, MOV. AirPlay fails to handle other formats like MKV, AVI, WMV, FLV, DivX, XviD, MPEG etc which are not supported by iTunes.
Certain video formats are not supported by varoius TVs. You can download a small (25MB) video from the “Big list of sample videos for testers” website: Test Video MKV.
Please open the file with MKPlayer, press the TV selector icon and select your TV. If you can see the video (during the compatibility checking as well), it means that your TV does not support your original video, but it is compatible with our app.
You can try your other videos during compatibilty check and decide if you want to unlock "Play On TV" later.
The issue could be caused by lot of circumstances. If you could see a certain video during compatibility check it means technically MKPlayer can stream to your smart TV. Besides your TV can still lose connection anytime with our app due to various reasons.
The best we can suggest is to make sure your Mac and your TV are still on the same network. As a workaround you can turn off / unplug your TV and switch it back on, so it will be forced to reconnect.
Please also note that most Smart TVs are not compatible with every video format, so if you are trying to stream a different video that could also be a problem.

MKPlayer is searching for available TVs. Make sure you turn on your TV, and it is on the same network as your Mac.

MKStreamer
Due to technical limitations your TV and Mac needs to be on the same local network (ie. wifi & make sure you don't use VPN). When both devices are on the same network, you will be able to select your TV at Smart TV Control section, and your screen will show up on your TV.
You need to click File menu and then Stream Desktop / Camera. You can choose from the Input Selector at the bottom of the window between your available video sources.

This is a general message from certain TVs that are not compatible with our app. Basically most 2013+ smart TVs are supported, but recenlty we don’t have a complete list of supported TVs. We are trying to do our best to improve compatibility.

Sorry for the issue, it seems to be quite rare. It is probably caused by some OS issues, as the app properly uses the permission request method provided by Apple. We can only suggest to restart your Mac and reinstall the app.

All the major news sites, blogs and forums display links to RSS feeds (ie.:Apple RSS). You can subscribe to the feeds in two way:
- Copy the link from your browser and then add it to Leaf with File / Subscribe to Feed
- Click on the link. In Safari you need to click Allow for the window asking you to add link to Leaf.
As Leaf does not have a built in feed recommender system we suggest you to check out Feedly. It is a free service and has great recommendation system on their website. After subscribing to interesting feeds you can easily add your Feedly account to Leaf.
You need to have the latest version of Pocket / Evernote app installed, as from Yosemite, El Capitan it provides a sharing extension, which is recommended to use by Apple.

Pocket / Evernote needs to be enabled at Leaf / Preferences / Sharing and please make sure that the sharing is also enabled at System Preferences / Extensions / Share Menu list.
In case if you still don't see the sharing among your sharing options, please disable it at Share Menu list, restart your Mac and re-enable it.
Multiple accounts are supported in Leaf. You need to click the + button at the bottom left to add a new account.
In case if you use RSS and you would like to switch to Feedly/Feedbin, you need to add a Feedly/Feedbin account first and then remove the RSS account
You can remove an account by secondary clicking (two finger or ctrl+click) on the account name on the sidebar, and select remove from the context menu.
You need to select the subscription at the Sidebar and the by secondary clicking (two finger, ctrl+click or the small gear icon at the bottom) you can access the context menu. You need to click on "Copy URL to clipboard".
Leaf tries to display every valid feed properly, but there can still be issues. The best would be to find the feed url (see the question above) and validate it with a feed validator. You can contact the feed provider if you find any issues. You can also send us the URL so we can look at it and do our best to improve Leaf in a future update.
By design (due to the nature of RSS Feeds), you can’t delete articles, you can only mark them unread/read/stared and different view options will then hide them from the lists (View / All items - Unread- Stared).

Feeds that require http authentication are recently supported. Please try to use the following format, when you add your feed URL to the subscriptions:

It is important to note that such feed format will ony work with Standalone RSS service. (you can easily add it to your services with the bottom left + button)
This might not work properly for SSL feeds, but we are recently working on addressing the issue. In a future version proper management of password protected feeds will show up.
For Basecamp users this should work:

The standalone RSS service has no sync functions and we do not plan to implement iCloud syncing in the near future.
We recommend you to use Feedly (free) or an other supported sync service. This way besides using Leaf on all your OS X devices, you can also access Feedly or other sync service clients from your other devices (iOS, Android or even from a browser) and keep your articles synced.
You need to click the small + icon at the bottom left corner, and select "Create Folder". To manage the content of folders, you need to open Preferneces / Subsrciptions and then drag and drop subscriptions, like you do it with files and folders in Finder.

FreeChat
Our app is fully based on the browser version of WhatsApp (a.k.a WhatsApp Web), which currently seems to be unresponsive on Catalina (also in Safari). Please try to restart the app in a couple of days, when the issue might get fixed by WhatsApp. FreeChat is a third-party app, so we cannot fix this issue as long as it is not fixed on WhatsApps side.
Plaase make sure you update to the latest version on the Mac App Store.
Download images by clicking on them and as they zoom to preview mode, you'll be able to drag them from the chat window and drop it to your prefered location.
Downloading files that do not have a preview are recently not possible.
We're sorry that recently this features are quite limited, but we'll try to improve it in future updates.
You can send images by droping them to the chat window, but there are certain locations where it does not work (ie. Photos). As a workaround you need to drop such images to a temporary locations (ie. Desktop) and drag it from there.
Sending videos are limited to size and format: maximum 16mb and mp4 format.

Sorry, but you can't login to WhatsApp without a phone. Due to WhatsApp's restrictions you must use a phone to scan the QR code. You are identified with your phone number.
Login to WhatsApp requires an active WhatsApp account on your phone. To scan the QR code you need to open WhatsApp application on your phone.
- On iPhone: in WhatsApp application go to Settings > WhatsApp Web > Scan QR Code
Note: You need to be running iOS 8.1 or higher to activate WhatsApp web. iPhone 4 doesn't support iOS 8.
- On Android: in the Chats screen > Menu > WhatsApp Web.
- On BlackBerry: go to Chats > Menu > WhatsApp Web.

Our app is based on Safari and unfortunately the feature is not supported. Once WhatsApp will allow video chat for Safari it will show up in our app as well. Besides you might try the official app.

FreeChat for Facebook Messenger
The issue is probably caused by a temporary error on Facebook’s side. Our app is based on the web version of Messenger, please check messenger.com in your browser.
Sometimes if messenger.com works in your browser Facebook logins still don't work for third party apps. First just try clicking Reload from server under FreeChat menu. If it does not work even after waiting for couple of hours, you can also try to reset and maybe reinstall the app as described on this page.
The issue might also relate to 2 factor authentication, in such case you need to open messenger.com in your browser, login and check “keep me signed in”. After you’ve logged in successfully, you’ll be able to login in our app as well. As long as you stay signed in, it will work fine.
Based on similar earlier cases it can take up to several days for Facebook to fix it.If it does not work you can report it to Facebook Support or check the downtime at downdetector.com.
Really sorry but due to Facebook’s restrictions we can’t add video chat to our app. If they change their policy, we’ll be able to add it to our app. Recently you need to open messenger.com from Firefox or Chrome to be able to use the feature on your Mac.

Sorry, but you can't login to FreeChat for Facebook with a phonenumber. Due to Facebook's restrictions you can only login with a phone number on your phone.
You simply need to horizontally resize the window. As the UI is responsive it will change from Compact to Normal than to Detailed mode.
For Detailed mode you need to press the "i" button at the top right.

We had to remove the app from the Mac App Store, but you can still download it with the same Apple ID from the list of your Purchased apps.

Yes, you need to enable Preferences / General / Open Links in a New Tab.
Yes, it has a basic adblocker, which we try to improve regulary. You can enable the feature at Preferences / Appearance / Disable banners.
All you need to do is to press the Hide Window button on the toolbar (crossed out eye). You can also minimize the window with yellow (-) button on the top left, or with cmd+M. Make sure Preferences / Pause when window is hidden is not enabled.
If you do not want to see the icon of the app in the dock, you can disable "Show in Dock" at Preferences / General. Then you can easily access the app from the menu bar.
You can enable/disable Dark Theme the same way you do it in a browser:
- If you're logged out: click Settings (the 3 dotts before "Sign In") at the top right.
- If you are logged in: click on your profile picture at the top right corner
- Click Dark Theme and then toggle the Activate slider.

Our helper is a small application that enables you to sleep and wake your Mac easily from Wake Up Time by pressing the Sleep button. You can save energy by putting your Mac to sleep instead of only turning the screen off. When your Mac is in sleep, it’s turned on but consumes much less power. Important Note: if you have a portable Mac and you close the lid, there is no way for your Mac to wake up on its own.
Download and install
First you need to download the helper file, then launch it and follow the installation instructions. During the installation process Wake Up Time Application is closed automatically. After the helper is installed you need to launch Wake Up Time. If the helper is successfully installed the application menu has a “Helper Installed” disabled menu item.
Sleep button and the Helper
The purpose of the Sleep button is to give your Mac a rest until it is time for the alarm. By default it turns off your screen, but leaves your Mac turned on. At the time of alarm, the screen turns back on automatically. After the Helper Application is installed your Mac goes to sleep after pressing the Sleep button and wakes up at the time of the alarm.
Limitations of the Helper
When the Helper is installed Wake Up Time is able to wake your Mac from sleep. It works even if the sleep was the result of your system energy settings or any other app. There are certain cases when Wake Up Time is not able to wake up properly for the alarm after sleep:
- Password protection after sleep or screensaver
- Closed lid of a portable Mac
- Drained battery of a portable Mac
- Shut down or power off
Uninstall Helper
Easily remove the Helper Application by running the Helper Installer when the Helper is already installed.
The best way to learn more about the alarm settings is to read the "How To Use" section of Wake Up Time Help, which can be accessed from Help menu.
In general we usually suggests to go step by step with the alarm settings. First set the alarm five minutes ahead of the recent time. Make sure you pay attention for the day setting. Press sleep and at the time of alarm, the sound will turn on. This is how the app supposed to work. Then set it for one hour, and if it still works you can surely set it to your morning time.
For the display: use 24-hour checkbox in the Preferences.
For alarm time setting: the app follows your System settings. You can customize that in Times settings at Language & Texts in System Preferences.

Memory Diag
The recycle of Memory Diag tries to restore the system’s memory state to the state of a “fresh system restart”, mostly by forcing the system to empty caches and lower compressed memory. This only speeds up your system in special scenarios:
- After closing a memory intense app, it will clean up the caches left behind. In case if you know you will not start a memory intense app again in the future an optimization helps your system.
- Before planing to run memory intense apps.
Auto recycle does not have a fixed threshold, it runs recycle when monitored memory values indicate that it will be effective (i.e. after you close a memory intensive app and in several other scenarios)
- Physical Memory: The amount of RAM installed.
- Memory Used: The amount of RAM being used and not immediately available.
- Virtual Memory: The amount of disk or flash drive space being used as virtual memory.
- Swap Used: The space on your drive being used to swap unused files to and from RAM.
- App Memory: The amount of space being used by apps.
- Wired Memory: Memory that can’t be cached to disk, so it must stay in RAM. This memory can’t be borrowed by other apps.
- Compressed: The amount of memory in RAM that is compressed.
- File Cache: The space being used to temporarily store files that are not currently being used.
The combination of Free, Wired, Active, Inactive and Used memory statistics in previous versions of OS X have been replaced in Mavericks with "Memory Pressure", that can be monitored in Memory Diag with a gauge. Read more at OS X Mavericks: About Activity Monitor.

Battery Monitor
No, recently the app only shows information about Macbook battery.

You need to move your mouse over the certain fields and a tooltip will show up to describe the displayed information.
Battery Capacity gives more detailed feedback about battery health than the default OS battery states (normal, replace, service).
Battery Capacity is a realion between “Full Capacity” and “Design Capacity". Full capacity can be reached once you fully charge your Mac, this value decreases during usage. Design Capacity is the factory default of your battery so it will not lower.
In case if your battery capcaity is low, but you still see Normal for “Battery Condition”, there is no need to do anything. Once Battery Condition turns to Replace, you’ll need to think about replacing the battery. Read more about Mac notebook batteries.

You need to open the Preferences of the app (Click the top left icon once you clicked the menu bar). At the bottom part of Preferences window you’ll be able to set the notifications.

Newsflow
Please update to the latest version and restart your Mac.

All the major news sites, blogs and forums display links to RSS feeds (ie.:Apple RSS). You can subscribe to the feeds in two way:
- Copy the link from your browser and then add it to Newsflow with File / Add subscription
- Click on the link. In Safari you need to click cancel for the window asking you to add link to shared link.
As Newsflow does not have a built in feed recommender system we suggest you to check out Feedly. It is a free service and has great recommendation system on their website. After subscribing to interesting feeds you can easily add your Feedly account to Newsflow.
Newsflow can be moved to any Desktop, by using Mission Control. You can simply drag and drop the Newsflow window.
You can also assign Newsflow to a certain Desktop, with a secondary click on the Dock icon by using the Options sub menu. Even if you like you can assign it to be shown on All Desktops.
Prefernces / Genearal / "Show on the right side of the screen" is an available option to stick the app to the right side of your screen.
Multiple accounts are supported in Newsflow. You need to click the + button at the bottom left of Prefernces / Subscriptions to add a new account.
In case if you use RSS and you would like to switch to Feedly/Feedbin, you need to add a Feedly/Feedbin account first and then remove the RSS account
You can remove an account by secondary clicking (two finger or ctrl+click) on the account name on the sidebar, and select remove from the context menu.
You need to have the latest version of Pocket / Evernote app installed, as from Yosemite, El Capitan it provides a sharing extension, which is recommended to use by Apple.

Pocket / Evernote needs to be enabled at Leaf / Preferences / Sharing and please make sure that the sharing is also enabled at System Preferences / Extensions / Share Menu list.

Newsflow has been designed to be a fluent news ticker application. It always stays on your desktop, rather than running in a window like Leaf. This behavior helps you quickly scroll through your articles and have them always visible.
The news reader of Newsflow only shows up when you click on articles, giving you a quick, but full featured preview.
RSS Notifier is also a news ticker, but due to compatibility issues with OS X Yosemite, El Capitan, it will not be supported in the future. Newsflow has been designed to replace RSS Notifier.

Open Any File
Our app can open files and show advanced information about them, but in most cases it can’ show you a preview or convert it. Once you've opened a file with our app you can click on the button "About xyz extension..." to be redirected to a website that will give you detailed information about the file extension.
Opening Microsoft Windows related files (.exe, .dll, .msi, .lnk) on your Mac does not have any built in support on macOS.

Open Any File should behave as any other app installed from the Mac App Store. The best we can suggest is to open the app and secondary click on its Dock icon, then click Options / Show in Finder. From Finder you can easily delete the app as any other file.
Our app is not a malware. It is a properly sandboxed app and every version has een revieved by Apple.
Open Any File is detected under the category: OSX.FakeFileOpener in Malewarebytes. They only explain this category in one of their blog posts. As our app does not behave the way described in the article, we've already contacted them and anskef for removal.
The Duplicate Finder
We had to remove The Duplicate Finder from the MAS, but you can still download it with the same Apple ID from the list of your Purchased apps.
You are trying to delete files that are not allowed to be deleted by the OS for some reasons that we don’t know.
If you reveal those files in Finder (double click on them) and try to move them to the Trash manually you probably won’t be able to.
From finder if you click on “Get Info” you’ll see more about the permissions of the files and you can also check out whether it is locked or not.
The recent version does not support the safe removal of Photos duplicates. We're working on the new major version of The Duplicate Finder, that will support safe removal for Photos app as well.
As a workaround you can scan Photos library for duplicated photos on a file level, but their removal might cause inconsistency in the library, so we highly recommend you to make a backup of the library before the process.
1. Open the Preferences of The Duplicate Finder then select "Under the Hood" and “Treat bundle content as regular files”
2. Add your Photos Library to the circle on the Startup Window (File / Add Folder or drag and drop will also work.
3. Check out the duplicates.
Note: To delete files directly from Photos Library you can turn off “Item selection warnings” in Preferences / Behavior. But use it very carefully. You can also allow this option for auto select. Make sure you have a backup of your Aperture Library, before the removal.
To remove duplicates in iTunes the best way is to use its “built-in duplicate finder”. Click File/Display Duplicates in iTunes and then delete the once you don’t need.
Besides it is possible to delete files within your iTunes Library, but we’d like to warn you that it could harm the consistency of iTunes. Therefore we’re trying to protect users from doing that with warning messages, and not allow it by default.
If you just drop in your iTunes folder in the Startup window (or press + and select it). You’ll then see then all the duplicates, but you’ll get a warning message every time you try to select them (therefore automatic selection won’t select it as well).
As a workaround for users who really know what they do we have an option in Preferences called “Disable item selection warnings”. That will help you out, but use it very carefully (it will still only work with auto select if you check the Allow checkbox).
Auto-select selects every item of the listed duplicate groups that can be manually selected without a warning message.
In this case you do have many duplicates, but none of them can be selected without a warning message. Please select the duplicates manually and read the warning to know more about your issue.
As a workaround for users who really know what they do we have an option in Preferences called “Disable item selection warnings”. That will help you out, but use it very carefully (it will still only work with auto select if you check the Allow checkbox).
The Duplicate Finder uses SHA1 checksum for file compare, only files with the same checksum are duplicates. This means:
- the app will not detect two files as duplicates, when they do not have the same bits,
- files with different names but same content are always detected as duplicates,
- if you've resized an image, even if the "content" is duplicate, the app will not detect it as it is not the same file anymore.
“SHA-1 is essentially a secure checksum for a data file. The SHA-1 checksum is based on a cryptographic standard. For a given file, SHA-1 produces a 160 bit encrypted output known as a “message digest.” It is highly improbable that a modified data set would produce the same message digest. If a file is changed during transit, its message digest also changes.” – read more
You can export your results from File menu / Export Results to a CSV file.
The Duplicate Finder does not have Automator support, but you can use the csv file for further processing.

Open Winmail.dat
Once you’ve installed the app from the Mac App Store, you need to launch it from your application folder or launchpad or spotlight. Then you need to click File / Open and select your winmail.dat file. You can simply drop the file on the Dock icon as well.
You can also use our app straight from Finder, if you select a winmail.dat file, and the secondary click for the context menu, and select Open with our app.
Aftre that you’ll see a window with the attachment files, you can select them and click File / Save or drag out. You can click File / Save To for saving all files.

No. Our app can onlz be used to decompress archived files.
If your exe file is an archive our app will be ablte to decompress it. Besides in most cases exe files are Microsoft Windows related files (.exe, .dll, .msi, .lnk), which can't be opened by our app. MacOS does not have any built in support for opening them as well, but you can read more about the possibilities to emulate Windows environment at the Official Apple Support Communities pages.
